On March 15, our production of No Mean City: Baltimore 1966 closed a successful run of nine sold-out performances in the Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Auditorium at the Baltimore Museum of Art.  This was a world premiere play by long-time Baltimore Sun columnist and Baltimore media personality Dan Rodricks.

No Mean City: Baltimore 1966 weaves together the stories of racial tensions in Baltimore during the implementation of the Civil Rights Act, a progressive Republican mayor trying to do the best for his city, and the historic run to the World Series by the Orioles, where the swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games.

Thanks to Emily Peterson for her positive review in MD Theatre Guide on March 7 and for her mention of my performance, stating "...While they only make short appearances, J.R. Hontz as Jerold Hoffberger and ... make strong, memorable impressions..."

Thanks to Dan for writing this plan, and for giving me the opportunity to work alongside this wonderful cast of professionals in bringing it to life for the first time.
